Fats are concentrated form of energy stored as body fats. Fats exist as either visible ( processed) fats like butter, cooking oil, tamu, cow boy, kimbo and many others
Fats may also exist as invisible fats found in food we eat like eggs, ground nuts, soya ,beans and many others.
Fats are composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. When fats are broken down after digestion they produce fatty acids and glycerol as the end products which are absorbed and stored for energy. They are stored in different parts of the body like the peritoneum diet, for instance providing m around internal organs like the heart, kidney and under the skin.

 Menopause is a time in a woman’s life when the cyclic functions of ovaries and menstrual periods cease.
Menopause occurs at the end of the woman’s last menstrual period. The fact is only established later when a woman has had no periods for at least one year. The average age of menopause is about 50 years but it may occur normally in women as young as 40 years.
Regular menstrual cycles may continue to menopause but usually last periods tend to vary in duration and amount of flow.

 Breast feeding is providing of breast milk to babies. This is beneficial to the baby because breast milk is the best food for the baby and therefore any other supplement or substitute food is not as good as breast milk.
For the first four months of life breast milk is all the food babies need. Majority of babies depend on breast milk for the first six months of life without any problems up to the age of 2 years which is very good for the babies and mothers.

DIARRHEA


 Diarrhea is an increase in volume, wateriness or frequency of bowel movements/stool.
A person with diarrhea caused by significant medical problems usually has excessive volumes of stool. Normally stool contains 60 to 90 % water and Diarrhea results if the percentage of water in stool exceeds 90%. There are severely Forms/types of diarrhea grouped according to the cause and how it occurs including;
Osmotic diarrhea which occurs when certain substances like some fruits, beans, chewing gum can’t be absorbed into the blood stream and remain in the intestines. These substances cause excessive amounts of water to remain in stool leading to diarrhea.

FOOD HYGIENE



Hygiene simply means a science dealing with the maintenance of health and prevention of diseases.
It can also mean cleanliness.
Food is some thing edible and safe for human consumption.
Therefore food hygiene is defined as a sanitary science which aims at producing safe food and of good keeping quality.

Food hygiene should be observed when processing, preparing, serving and eating food.
